The TNMG160408M XP9110 features a negative triangular geometry providing 6 usable cutting edges. Paired with the XP9110 grade, it is engineered for high-performance machining in materials that tend to "smear" or work-harden. This chipbreaker ensures that chips remain short and manageable, protecting both the workpiece and the tool.
Key Features:
Grade XP9110 (Advanced PVD): A premium PVD-coated grade with high-density AlTiN layers. It provides exceptional thermal resistance and a very low friction coefficient, which prevents Built-Up Edge (BUE)—a common failure mode in stainless steel.
MS (Medium-Sharp) Chipbreaker: Specifically designed for Stainless Steel (M) and High-Temp Alloys (S). It features a sharp rake angle and a narrow chip grove that forces chips to break even at low feed rates and shallow depths of cut.
0.8mm Nose Radius: Offers excellent edge strength for semi-finishing operations. It provides high durability against "notch wear" at the depth-of-cut line, which is frequent when turning stainless steel.
6-Edge Economy: As a TNMG insert, it offers three cutting edges per side, providing a highly cost-effective solution for high-volume CNC workshops.
Best For:
Turning and facing of 304, 316, and Duplex Stainless Steels.
Machining of Titanium alloys and Inconel.
Applications requiring high surface integrity and tight dimensional control.
Compatible with standard MTJNR / PTJNR / WTJNR tool holders.
