The CNMA 120408R XC8110 is an 80° Rhombic (diamond) negative insert engineered for maximum stability. Paired with the XC8110 grade, this insert is a powerhouse for high-velocity finishing and semi-finishing of Grey and Ductile Cast Iron. Its flat-top design provides the strongest possible cutting edge for materials where chip breaking is not a concern.
Key Features:
Grade XC8110: This grade is specifically optimized for Cast Iron (K). It offers extreme hardness and wear resistance, allowing for much higher cutting speeds than standard steel-cutting grades.
Flat-Top Design (CNMA): Since Cast Iron produces small, powdery chips, a chipbreaker is unnecessary. The flat top ensures the cutting edge is fully supported, preventing micro-chipping and extending tool life under heavy pressure.
0.8mm Nose Radius: The "08" radius provides an excellent balance of edge strength and surface finish. It is robust enough to handle the abrasive nature of cast iron skins/scales.
Negative Geometry: Designed for double-sided use (providing 4 cutting edges per insert), making it a highly cost-effective choice for high-volume production.
Best For:
High-speed turning and facing of Grey Cast Iron (GG) and Nodular Cast Iron (GGG).
Applications requiring high dimensional stability and long tool life in abrasive materials.
Compatible with standard DCLNR / PCLNR style tool holders.
