RDKW 1605MO 202
Share :
The RDKW 1605MO is a 16mm round, positive milling insert. Its circular geometry provides the strongest possible cutting edge because the cutting force is distributed over a larger area compared to pointed inserts. The "202" grade/geometry is specifically tuned for high metal removal rates in tough materials.
Key Features:
Ultimate Edge Strength: The round shape has no weak corners, making it virtually immune to chipping. This is ideal for roughing surfaces with heavy scale, sand inclusions, or interrupted cuts.
Variable Depth of Cut: Because the lead angle changes with the depth of cut, this insert naturally reduces "notch wear" and allows for high-feed rates at shallow depths (chip thinning effect).
Grade 202: A tough, wear-resistant carbide grade designed for Steel (P) and Cast Iron (K) machining. It features a specialized coating that handles the high temperatures generated during rapid profile milling.
Positive Clearance: The "K" in RDKW indicates a positive relief angle, which reduces spindle power consumption and vibration, even when machining at high depths.
Best For:
Mold & Die Making: Ideal for roughing out large cavities and complex 3D shapes.
Face Milling: Provides an excellent surface finish when used at lower feed rates.
Tough Conditions: Best for machining raw forgings or cast parts where the surface is uneven.
Compatible Holders: Fits standard Extra-Large Round Insert milling cutters (Copy Mills).
