Key Features
IRM "Molded" Chipbreaker: The "M" stands for molded. Unlike flat-top inserts, this has a specialized three-dimensional geometry that forces the chip to curl and snap. This is critical for internal threading where "bird-nesting" (long stringy chips) can ruin the part or the tool.
Partial Profile (AG60) Versatility: The AG60 designation means it has a universal 60° angle without a fixed crest radius. A single insert can cut a wide range of pitches—typically 0.5 mm to 3.0 mm (or 48 to 8 TPI)—reducing your inventory costs.
Internal Right-Hand (IRM) Orientation: Specifically engineered for internal boring bar applications. The clearance angles are optimized to prevent the heel of the insert from rubbing against the curved inner diameter of the hole.
