IRM "Molded" Chipbreaker: The "M" stands for molded. Unlike flat-top inserts, this has a specialized three-dimensional geometry that forces the chip to curl and snap. This is critical for internal threading where "bird-nesting" (long stringy chips) can ruin the part or the tool.
