The WNMU080608M XP7120 is a thick, robust milling insert featuring 6 usable cutting edges. Its unique trigon/hexagonal shape provides a wide contact area and high mechanical strength. Paired with the XP7120 PVD grade, it is engineered to conquer the heat and work-hardening challenges of milling austenitic and duplex stainless steels, steel and cast iron.
Key Features:
Grade XP7120 (PVD Coated): A specialized grade featuring a high-toughness carbide substrate and a heat-resistant PVD coating. It is specifically designed to resist thermal cracking (common in milling with coolant) and notch wear in Stainless Steel (M) and High-Temp Alloys (S).
0.8mm Nose Radius: Provides a robust cutting edge capable of handling high feed-per-tooth rates. This radius offers the best balance between edge strength and the ability to produce a clean surface finish.
Double-Sided 6-Edge Design: Unlike standard square or triangular milling inserts, the WNMU provides 6 edges per insert, making it one of the most economical choices for high-production milling centers.
High Thickness (6.35mm): The "06" thickness code indicates a heavy-duty body. This added mass helps absorb vibrations during heavy roughing cuts, protecting the spindle and the tool holder.
Best For:
High-efficiency face milling of Stainless Steel.
Roughing and semi-finishing of carbon and alloy steels where tool life is the priority.
Applications requiring high depths of cut and high feed rates.
Compatible with standard WNMU-style indexable face mills.
